Artist's Description
This painting was inspired by a friend who told me a story of him when he was a in college. During the summers, he would work on a cattle ranch out on the high prairie. One of his jobs was to climb up on top of the water windmills and change the oil in the motor. I wanted to capture the moment he was teetering on top of one of these structures, and how the cattle, all full of curiosity, stand at a "safe" distance, watching what is going down. I included the red pickup truck as a focal point of the painting, catching the eye, drawing it in and directing it then to the foreman on the ground giving instructions, pointing up to my friend teetering on the windmill platform.
